ITechGirlsAn Initiative

The camp will provide its students with all the skills necessary to create a dynamic, interactive and functional web application, as well as provide the students with an outlined plan regarding how they will be able to continue learning computer science, even after the final camp session. During the camp the students will become proficient in HTML and CSS, and will be able to use Twitter Bootstrap to enhance the quality of their web application. If time permits, we may be able to introduce the girls to a more complex back-end programming language, such as Ruby, as well. We aim to have a projected number of twenty campers per session, as well as five high school volunteers, allowing for a 1:4 teacher to student ratiom whose responsibility will be to teach and supervise the campers, as well as to answer any questions the students may have.
